Location/Division Specific Information

Supports the Customer Channels Group (CCG) business unit in Agawam, MA

Discover Impactful Work:

Supporting the CCG division in Agawam, MA, the Supervisor will train and guide the respective assigned distribution center department to perform their jobs according to the proper standard operating procedures (SOP's). Lead in a manner that is consistent with our culture, which is based on four values Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement and on open communication while coordinating warehouse activities to provide a smooth and efficient flow of work.

A Day in the Life:

  • Organize staff and workload to meet or exceed distribution productivity performance standards for Receiving, Put Away, Packing, Shipping, or Inventory Control. Develops daily work schedules as workload situation demands. Reconciles and approves time detail for employees in e-time system.
  • Participates in candidate selection for hiring purposes. Trains, recommends and delivers disciplinary action, when appropriate, for issues as attendance, performance, safety, or policy violation.
  • Conducts yearly performance reviews and feedback sessions with employees to discuss metrics and performance related issues, prior to issues becoming increasingly serious.
  • Actively seeks development opportunities for team members. Promotes a friendly environment, good morale and teamwork among team members.
  • Recommends and develops ideas for improvement in operating methods and procedures, and to resolve problems when these arise. Makes recommendations to improve warehouse layout, workflow, operating costs and customer service, for consideration and approval by Leadership.
  • Resolves customer service issues via phone, fax and e-mail or in meetings with other departments. Ensures that committed orders are shipped or received on time appropriately and that carriers meet scheduled pick-up and delivery commitments.
  • Maintains safety standards and training in the department; ensures that the building is maintained in a clean and safe manner and that inventories and equipment are protected against theft, fire and other hazards that may cause loss or damage.
  • Follows-up on hazardous materials packaging, storage and shipping to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Adaptable and willing to take on additional tasks and responsibilities as the need arises to support the operation.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • High school diploma, or equivalent required.

Experience

  • At least 2 years experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment required.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills to guide and develop a large team. Excellent interpersonal skills to optimally communicate and build relationships with employees, peers, and management.
  • Customer-focused approach to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to handle problems effectively and give constructive feedback.
  • Performance management experience.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a creative approach to issue resolution and shown problem solving skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 40-70 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally with or without accommodation.
