About the Role:
In this critical role, you will be leading a team responsible for driving flawless execution of pricing, tenders, and contract management. Your proven expertise will be crucial in successfully driving strategies that ensure we compete in the market effectively!
What You'll Do:
Strategic Pricing
- Management of "Whole of Business" (WOB) customer pricing approach, administration of yearly increases and customer communication.
- Develop scalable and streamlined customer pricing strategy ensuring it is executable within ERP environment.
- Pricing Tools SME including Quick Quotes (standard quoting tool) and GSP IMPact (fixed term pricing tool). Work with respective support teams to continually develop tools and seek feedback from users.
- Collaborate with Global Strategic Pricing (GSP) Team and FP&A to achieve ANZ pricing goals.
- Conduct regular reviews of pricing approval process including triggers, thresholds, floor price and auditing approver lists.
- Develop process to minimize customer price discrepancies through root cause analysis and engagement with internal team members and customers. Provide support to resolve day-to-day discrepancies. Implement system fixes and share industry-recommended approaches.
- eBusiness: Active management of pricing agreements, hosted catalogues.
- Assist the commercial team with validating eligibility of organisations in drawing on State or Federal Government contracts.
- Coordination of centralised customer communication for product discontinuation for contract and non-contract customers.
- Assist with impact analysis of changes to customer freight terms, fee and surcharges.
- Training: Responsible for training the commercial organisation on pricing strategy, communication and tools including Quick Quotes, GSP IMPact Tool.

Tenders & Contracts
- Responsible for end-to-end tender process, including preparation, submission, and post-submission follow-up for Thermo Fisher Scientific ANZ.
- Strategically decide and drive tender approach to improve efficiency, effectiveness and maximising success.
- Monitor and manage contractual obligations throughout the contract lifecycle, providing updates, reports. Partner with key functions including Legal, Finance, Quality and Supply Chain as the need arises.
- Coordinate and streamline management of Tenders Mailbox.
- Maintain accurate records of all tender documents and correspondence in a standardised and accessible system.
- Regularly update senior management on tender status, outcomes, and findings using systems including Salesforce.com.
- Build databases and libraries to develop better (standardised) tender responses, optimising the tender approach.
- Seek out and embrace new technologies to enable more efficient collaboration and automation of repeat tasks.
- Maintain and review external Tender Portal registrations and alerts to ensure complete coverage relevant to the ANZ business by consulting with collaborators.
- Consult and collaborate with Strategic Partnerships team to develop impactful customer business reviews templates.
- Coordinate response for customer initiated surveys and questionnaires including Quality, Modern Slavery, and Business Continuity Plans.
- Actively partner with divisions to ensure the team is meeting the business requirements and developing the optimal approach.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, with extensive experience in strategic price management, contracts, and tender processes
- Proven experience in leading by example and managing the expectations from both Management and team members to achieve results.
- Strong commercial acumen with proficiency in handling tough conversations and negotiations.
- History of driving organizational and process change.
- Track record of managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to navigate complex customer RFP and contract documents.
- Ability to understand financial analysis and reports
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build relationships with internal and external customers and staff to achieve results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and innovative thinking
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and exposure to Tender Portals is advantageous
- Experience with Salesforce.com is desirable.
