Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate the implementation of the CMD R&D roadmap, collaborating closely with our global R&D and Product Management leadership team and to identify, define and manage innovation projects that align with the Division's strategic goals. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and guide pan-division and other significant technology projects, ensuring they align with and support the Division's strategic plan. Develop schedules for technology projects, track progress, and estimate costs in terms of expenses and human resources.
  • Lead technology projects across divisions by conducting research and managing the NPDI phases. Collaborate with Thermo Scientific technologists in CMD, external academic experts, and key customers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with collaborators, both within and outside the organization, to drive innovative research agendas.
  • Identify and evaluate new research trends and technologies to determine their potential impact and applicability to our goals.
  • Represent Thermo Scientific at industry-leading forums and actively participate in strategic and standards committees to establish the direction for CMD Portfolio techniques.
  • Collaborate with budgeting for technology developments as part of the annual operating plan.
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage specific high-value application development activities through close collaboration with product teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in engineering, physical science, or chemistry or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred with emphasis on Chromatography or Mass Spectrometry.
  • Possess 8+ years of proven experience in the development and/or applications of techniques relevant to the products of CMD Portfolio and a track record of leading successful innovation projects.
  • Have customer-facing experience within a manufacturing or distribution business for laboratory analysis equipment and be comfortable in external environments.
  • Demonstrate efficiency in project management within internal environments.
  • A deep understanding of current trends and advancements in scientific research and technology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and navigate complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 25% of the time.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Pennsylvania is $143,000.00-$175,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
