How will you make an impact?
As a Stock Controller, you will work on behalf of Thermo Fisher Scientific at our customer site. Responsibilities will include material handling, shipping/receiving, glassware washing, and administrative duties. There is a requirement to engage in small projects, process evaluations, and improvements related to supply chain and customer service. Building a positive relationship with our customer is essential.
Daily duties:
- Make on-site program replenishments and disbursements. Perform stockroom duties including receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, and other functions according to customer requirements.
- Order Management: Order entry, order expediting, and customer service support.
- Chemical Management: Receive, register, and track chemical containers.
- Glass Wash Operations: Pick up glassware from labs, replace with clean glassware, perform glass wash sterilization processes, and inspect glassware.
- Follow well-defined Best Practices, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Prepare for customer meetings.
- Embrace Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies to improve customer and internal processes.
- Support new customer additions and storerooms.
- Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific professionally and positively throughout customer locations.
How will you get here?
Education
- Secondary School Leaving Certificate.
- Microsoft Office is beneficial.
Experience
- Experience working in a warehouse or inventory role is essential.
- Demonstrate verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Friendly, self-motivated, and customer-minded.
- Operating skills to use handheld scanners and learn to enter data in various systems.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Ability to enter data into various computer systems.
- Proficient multi-tasking and time management skills.
- Display a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
- Possess strong communication skills and customer focus to deliver excellent customer service, including maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
- Ability to work independently at customer locations.
- Extensive walking may be required.
- May pass through areas where chemical-based allergens are in use.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull 15-20 kg consistently; may be required to lift 20 kg.
- Some areas require steel-toe shoes, bump hats, and/or safety glasses.
- Ability to work beyond normal business hours and overtime as required.
