Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • As part of a multi-functional development team, major responsibility will include technical program management and execution for the projects in the Temperature Control team.
  • Lead high complexity projects for Sustenance Engineering working with the multi-functional team.
  • Collaborate with extended team to facilitate execution and implementation of Revenue attainment (Obsolescence) and Quality projects
  • Lead NPI-OEM projects for Temperature control
  • Work with collaborators / multi-functional teams to elucidate the functional & non-functional requirements from the business needs. Review and approve change orders
  • Demonstrates excelling business insight, knows the latest industry trends and is looked at as an internal expert on the product as well as the associated competitive landscape
  • Translates unstructured or ambiguous scope requests into mature prioritized work items
  • Mentor associates on core skills and standard processes. Build mechanical proficiency within the team

Skills and Proficiencies:
Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering and associated fundamentals
Leads project execution of multiple projects simultaneously with focus on quality of work.
Ability to strategically collaborate with global multifunction team on essentials of execution.
Ensures system level functionality, performance, safety and quality in line with the company product development process.
Ensures that assigned projects are delivered timely, to specification, and at or below target cost by elaborate engineering plans, including quality, cost, schedule, and risk assessment.
Leads the existing products sustaining, and drives high priority issues to resolution, including long-term corrective and preventive action plans.
Approaches problems in a rational manner to ensure comprehensive understanding and effective resolution
Helps team to grow technical depth across product lines and technologies.
Promotes an environment of learning, prioritizes technical training, addresses and fills technical gaps, and helps to buildup technical pipeline.
Efficiently interfaces to sourcing, operations, quality, service and global R&D team, as well as external suppliers, vendors and customers.
Work with Regulatory Affairs team members to acquire the required product approvals such as, U.L., FDA, C.S.A. and European product certifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. Masters will be added advantage.
• 12 + years of proven track record with Project Management (Minimum 8 years of relevant experience)
• PMP certification is helpful!
Demonstrated expertise to apply DFx (manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, safety, cost) knowledge to mechanical designs, expert
knowledge in more than two of these specific areas: sheet metal, machining, plastic and die casting, well understanding of the related
materials, processes and local supplier capability.
Deep knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and experienced with tolerance analysis.
Demonstrate ability to drive proven engineering solution to problems using vital tools, applying deep understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Design of Experiment (DOE) and FMEA.
Knowledge on Engineering systems, Engineering change processes
Must have good interpersonal skills to work globally and across functions
Evident passion, adaptability, initiative, creativity, ownership, and problem-solving skills
