Job Description:

As a Staff Engineer, you will lead technical feasibility studies, design experiments, perform testing, and execute Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for new technologies and product development of complex scientific and industrial instruments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical concepts, propose critical module requirement, manage technical risks, create test plans and protocols, conduct hands-on testing, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Act as a domain expert in chromatograph technology for analytical instrument development.
  • Work with product management and marketing for Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback, and propose, plan, and execute technology and product roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of research, feasibility studies, and new product launches.
  • Mentor and develop junior and senior engineers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Science or Engineering with 12+ years, MS with 9+ years, or PhD with 6+ years of industry experience in instrumentation development.
  • Strong systems experience in new product development involving multiple disciplines (EE, SW, ME, optics, DVV, Manufacturing).
  • Familiarity with modern R&D methodologies and tools such as Model Based Design (MBD), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Design of Experiment (DOE), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Workable English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently and lead other engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in analytical instrument development.
  • Expertise in high-performance liquid chromatograph and ion chromatograph.
