Location/Division Specific Information

The Greenville, North Carolina, USA site is a large, multipurpose pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and packaging campus. The operation provides both development and commercial services for sterile injectables and oral solid-dose forms.

Discover Impactful Work:

The Staff Engineer works with customers to estimate and develop Capital Engineering projects, leading projects of relevant scope and compliance-related challenges to implement procedures and processes to meet changing regulations. Address challenges of moderate to high complexity in regards to process and product compliance within facilities, equipment, manufacturing and support areas.

A Day in the Life:

  • Lead capital projects with a wide range of design requirements such as Civil engineering, Structural engineering, Process Piping, Power Distribution, Automation Controls, Process Clean Rooms, Facility Utility Packages, HVAC, Chiller Systems, and Customer Equipment Installations.
  • Prepare and present project updates to executive levels and steering committees.
  • Handle all financial aspects of your assigned projects. Ensure accountability and management of all engineering firms and construction contractors.
  • Support Sr. Staff Engineers on larger capital projects.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred.

Experience

  • With degree, 5 years of meaningful experience leading projects in engineering and facility construction with a preference in Pharmaceutical, Aseptic or Packaging industries.
  • In lieu of degree, 10 years of proven ability as indicated above.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to drive effective working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
