How Will You Make An Impact?

You will be joining our company as a Staff Engineer, Mechanical, working on sophisticated system development projects and leading the mechanical designs. Your role will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality results within project timelines and budgets. The decisions you make, along with your team's collaboration, will directly impact our business. This is a phenomenal opportunity to solve intricate mechanical problems and address the needs of our organization, aligning short-term objectives with long-term goals.

The Role

In this role, you will:

  • Cascade mechanical specifications from higher-level requirements
  • Lead and coordinate tasks of the mechanical engineers assigned to the project(s)
  • Ensure meeting the standards of output quality by means of review mechanisms
  • Lead complex problem-solving activities
  • Develop world-class high-tech constructions with cost, specifications, and timing in mind
  • Design for service, manufacturability, and reliability
  • Support, steer, and empower internal and external mechanical designers
  • Conduct FMEA and Safety Risk Assessments
  • Define test plans and strategies
  • Be the point of contact for multiple collaborators, including (sub)system architects

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you have:

  • MSc degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of demonstrated ability with a proven track record of hardware-focused design activities
  • Experience with high-tech mechanical constructions, preferably for Complex Capital Equipment
  • Experience with Design Principles, High Precision Mechanics, Cryogenic designs, Mechatronic designs
  • Excellent skills in tolerance analysis, FMEA, Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly, and Design of Experiments
  • Multi-physics simulation experiences through effective use of Finite Element Methods
  • Experience with UG-NX or other 3DCAD, TeamCenter
