Job Description

The Position

Engineer on this position is responsible for development of new analog, digital and mixed signal electronics systems in collaboration with other specialists (firmware, FPGA Engineers, SW, etc.). Engineer is also responsible for coordinating and couching other electronics engineers and defining interfaces for embedded platforms. These products are sophisticated electro-mechanical systems that include charged particle optics, gas chemistries, pre-amplifiers, signal processing and other technologies for sub-micron structural modifications and imaging.

Design sophisticated analog/digital/mixed electronics to achieve exceptional parameters.

Technically lead complex project consisting of several modules.

Coordinate other electronics engineers of sub-modules.

Define (collaborate on definition) interfaces of sophisticated sub-systems.

Participation in preparation and execution of module projects running in R&D with strong competence in designing electronics.

Technical lead for the 3rd parties where we potentially outsource modules. This includes specification preparing, mentoring, technical supervision and archiving of the outsourced design.

Conceptual thinking, making architectural decisions, interface definitions and high-level design descriptions. This includes crafting of corresponding documents.

Lead verification, solving problems, integration of electronics modules.

Collaboration with firmware engineers (particularly with CPLD & FPGA hardware designers) and with the other R&D groups world-wide.

Promote innovations.

Follow applicable IMS documents.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree or PhD in electronics engineering.
  • At least 8 years of working experience in R&D or industrial environment.
  • Able to technically lead sophisticated projects containing multiple modules/PCB's.
  • Ability to lead and influence others.
  • Validated history and excellent knowledge in designing electronics, able to participate in technical discussions and solve technical problems.
  • Very good insight into embedded software development - includes knowledge of architecture of microcontrollers, CPLD's, FPGA's, SoC's and MPSoC's.
  • Deep knowledge of analog and digital electronics to design low noise high precision electronics.
  • Knowledge and experience with design of high voltage up to 10kV low power supplies is advantage.
  • Follow Thermo Fisher standards and processes.
  • Work in international environment.
  • Proficient in English (both verbal and in writing).
