Responsibilities:

As a Sr Staff Scientist, Bioinformatics, you will be a cornerstone of our research efforts, passionately dedicated to delivering high-impact results. Your contributions will be pivotal in driving our mission forward.

  • Coordinate Complex Bioinformatics Projects
    Successfully coordinate and lead all aspects of advanced bioinformatics research projects, ensuring flawless execution from conception through completion.
  • Collaborative Research
    Work closely with cross-functional teams to determine research priorities and integrate bioinformatics insights into broader scientific endeavors.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation
    Apply world-class bioinformatics tools to analyze complex biological data, generating actionable insights that drive scientific understanding.
  • Method Development
    Innovate and develop new bioinformatics methods and algorithms to address challenging biological questions.
  • Mentorship and Guidance
    Offer proven mentorship and guidance to junior scientists, encouraging an inclusive environment where all team members can thrive.
  • Publication and Communication
    Publish research findings in high-impact scientific journals and present at international conferences to share our advancements with the global scientific community.
  • Grant Writing and Funding
    Compete for and secure funding through grant writing and collaboration with external scientific partners.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you must possess a combination of technical expertise, collaborative spirit, and a passion for scientific discovery. Only candidates who meet the following criteria will be considered:

  • Masters Degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field with 8+ years of professional experience
  • Expertise in bioinformatics tools and programming languages such as Python, R, and Unix/Linux.
  • Exceptional ability to analyze and interpret complex biological data, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated leadership in leading research projects and guiding multidisciplinary teams to success.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrates an approach that prioritizes collaboration and cultivates an inclusive and encouraging research environment through dedication and support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field with a proven track record of impactful research
  • Demonstrated ability in bioinformatics research, with a track record in peer-reviewed journal publications.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and big data technologies is highly desirable.
