Location/Division Specific Information

This position is part of the Cell Culture Cell Therapy Business Unit within the Bioproduction Division at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

The ideal candidate can be remote with the ability to travel to sites in US and Europe, visit customers, and collaborate with R&D, Commercial, and other functional teams.

We are looking for an ambitious Senior Manager, Product Management to join our Cell Therapy team in the US. The Senior Manager will be responsible for market and product strategy and execution of a growing business segment focused on Cell Therapies. This position will lead global product strategies, drive innovative solutions to customer challenges, lead operations for top line growth and profitability, and provide market leadership.

Reporting to the Director, Product Management- Cell Therapies, the position is crucial to identifying future product requirements and implementing an outstanding customer experience in the growing and evolving field of cell therapies. The successful Senior Manager, Product Management will define and drive growth strategies and PPI initiatives to support a business to scale.

What will you do?

  • Develop mid-range product strategies and guide fiscal planning for future positioning, growth, and evolution of the product platform. This includes identifying, establishing and leading strategic relationships with customers, suppliers and industry opinion leaders.
  • Be a key opinion leader (KOL) for their product line, represent Thermo Fisher Scientific externally at conferences and tradeshows, and optimally communicate product strategy and tactics to the market.
  • Champion successful launches through requirements, development, and commercialization. Lead the ultimate customer and financial success of new product introductions (NPIs).
  • Responsible for revenue, margin, customer satisfaction, and market share objectives.
  • Serve as product champion with internal collaborators, regional teams, and directly with customers including key accounts.
  • Provide input to business unit annual strategic plan development including STRAP and AOP
  • Champion new product directions: work across functions to develop business opportunities for revenue growth (organic and inorganic) and cost reduction, while using voice of customer research. Develop long-term product roadmap according to business strategy.
  • Provide market input and voice of customer to the Operations function. Support product planning in conjunction with manufacturing and planning teams to deliver optimal service levels for products; analyze profitability and monitor key financial indicators.
  • Develop and lead strategic collaborations for product partnerships. Lead cross-functional teams with R&D, operations, commercial groups and external partners to implement programs.

Education

  • BS degree in Life Sciences, Marketing, Engineering, Business, or STEM field required
  • MS degree or an advanced degree like a Ph.D./MBA highly desirable

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of product management, program management, or related business experience within life sciences industry
  • Sophisticated knowledge of global Cell Therapy markets and competitive landscape.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Products: PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI
  • Knowledge of cell therapy market regulations and manufacturing quality standards an advantage
  • Experience working in environments with strong cross functional and/or Matrix collaboration
  • Experience leading teams and influencing others without direct authority
  • Strong financial competence and history of demonstrated customer focus

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in a Global Product Management role driving overall portfolio strategy and leading new product development programs and launches
  • Product portfolio planning, product rationalization, assembling Voice of Customer, Market Research, Market Strategy, Value Based Pricing.
  • Experience in driving prioritization for initiatives that will have maximum impact
  • Ability to build organizational relationships to effectively empower project teams and resolve issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively present to all levels of an organization internally and externally
  • Ability to think strategically by using insights & data to build a vision on long term plan
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of time

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $143,000.00-$190,650.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
