We are seeking a Senior Medical Writer with extensive experience and a strong track record in managing and producing exceptional publications and scientific communications. As the Senior Medical Writer, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our dynamic Publications and Scientific Communications team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate your expertise and contribute significantly to the field of medical writing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Write, edit, and expertly manage publications and other scientific communications, ensuring flawless execution and adherence to timelines and budgets
  • Resolve project management issues with utmost professionalism, proactively addressing any out-of-scope activities
  • Maintain strict compliance with quality processes and requirements to deliver world-class deliverables
  • Represent the team as a prime contact on projects, demonstrating proven leadership and exceptional communication skills
  • Lead and contribute to initiatives for process improvement, driving ambitious goals for the team

Education, Professional Skills, & Experience:

  • Possess extensive and proven experience (5+ years) in publication writing, preferably in a CRO environment
  • Demonstrate excellent scientific writing, project management, and computer skills
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in a scientific field or equivalent and relevant formal qualification; experience in the field will also be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with an advanced degree.
  • Exhibit in-depth knowledge of relevant specialty areas of medicine
  • Additional qualifications such as AMWA, EMWA, or RAC training, or CMPP certification would be advantageous

  • Excel in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects concurrently while meeting fixed budgets and timelines
  • Foster collaboration and facilitate conflict resolution among team members and clients
  • Proactively communicate updates, progress, and challenges to ensure a streamlined workflow
