Location/Division Specific Information

The Vibrational Spectroscopy business segment develops spectroscopy products including FTIR, Raman and NIR solutions that are used by many industries include university researchers, pharmaceutical and chemical companies as well as food manufactures. The business campus is located in Fitchburg Wisconsin just a few miles outside of Madison Wisconsin. The site has R&D, manufacturing and marketing co-located which creates a great team dynamic that helps us develop solutions for customers that assist in making the world healthier, cleaner and safer!

How will you make an impact?

With your experience in leadership, product strategy, product development and excellence in engineering execution, you will lead a team of multidisciplinary group of engineers and scientists to develop our next generation of our Raman, FTIR and NIR instrumentation. Driving technical innovation and customer ease of use.

What will you do?

  • Lead a multi-functional team of highly skilled and experienced R&D managers, scientists, and engineers through product development pipeline and assist in transferring developed technologies/prototypes to the manufacturing stage for commercialization
  • Work with the R&D management and Product management teams to build and maintain robust NPI Roadmaps. Ensure that NPI roadmaps align with the business strategies and meet company objectives.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and resource plans across the team, applying agile techniques to re-balance when necessary.
  • Establish plans for product development activities to meet business goals including research, conceptualization, design and product launch.
  • Communicate and coordinate with supporting groups such as marketing, manufacturing, project management and quality to meet the business objectives and on time product delivery
  • Develop and deliver project status reports, proactively identifying, resolving and communicating any issues that may impact the team's ability to meet key goals
  • Participate in the site leadership team

How will you get here?

Education

BS/MS in Engineering field or equivalent

Experience

  • 8+ years of product development and systems design required, including budgetary development and resource planning
  • Proven experience in leading large software platforms
  • Strong project management in product development and the product development life cycle, from initial specification, test, release, and to manufacturing
  • Proven track record of strong product design principals including, technical and analytical skills
  • Prior experience with analytical instrumentation highly desirable

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to make decisions with ambiguous data to drive towards project goals
  • Excellent customer focus and customer engagement experience
  • Ability to work within a matrix organization to accomplish business goals and gain alignment from key partners
  • Knowledge of agile and waterfall software development and validation processes
