Job Description & Position Objective:
This important role is within the Genetic Sciences Division (GSD). The key tasks are to identify, evaluate and execute opportunities to out-license and supply products, on an OEM basis, to molecular diagnostic companies for their use in their products and services, hence to ensure overall business success within GSD served markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Focus on IVD market, automated sample preparation solutions and out-license business opportunities through new or existing partners.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities to OEM-out the company's products to other companies for use by them on an OEM basis and/or license the Company's intellectual property to third parties.
- Initiate and develop specific account plan to build strategic relationships with clients in multiple functions (e.g. R&D, manufacturing, procurement, marketing, QA and regulatory affairs) and at multiple levels (e.g. scientist, project manager and occasionally senior executives) as may be necessary.
- Align, coordinate and may lead cross-functional teams to execute on prioritized business opportunities that includes sales, manufacturing, legal, licensing, marketing, R&D, etc..
- Organize effective customer visits by colleagues who are experts in technologies and coordinate project execution from global production and R&D teams.
- Develop pricing proposals for large, complex, often multi-year deals and contracts. Make informed judgments of value to the customer upon which to develop pricing proposals for highly customized products, for which easy benchmarks are often unavailable, at the same time, negotiate other terms and conditions.
- Coordinate technical support to fulfill client needs, respond to inquiries, and resolve problems in a timely manner. Investigate product issues and ensures satisfactory resolution of customer complaints.
- Understand and act in accordance to applicable licenses and intellectual property, as well as monitor and manage contracts and relationships with clients.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Master's degree or above in life science field.
- Minimum of 8 years of working experiences in Life Science market.
- 5 years of experiences in business development, preferably working with sales or marketing teams.
- Project management experiences with cross-functional leadership with self-motivation and planning.
- Working experiences with global project teams in R&D, production, marketing, and global leadership teams.
- Excellent negotiation skills with distributors or external partners.
- Outstanding skills in executive presentation, and communication with fluency in both Chinese and English.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% per business needs.
