Fundamental Purpose of Position:

Major Contributing Activities:

You will contribute directly to the fast growth of TEM in semiconductor, leading the customer applications engagements.

This role builds bridges semiconductor developments cross continents between customers / marketing and R&D. It requires a strong knowledge and understanding of TEM, people management and semiconductor customer standard processes.

Promote employee satisfaction and development, achieve operational expense budget and training revenue targets. As a leader of a customer focused team, expect to spend 15%-20% of the time "in the field", visiting customers to develop and maintain good relationships, monitor customer satisfaction and market our services and value provided. Close partnership with Product Management, Sales and Field Applications Managers is crucial to help create and maintain a highly effective cross functional team to exceed our customers' requirements and drive improvements.

Key Objectives of the role:

  • Coordinate the management of key applications projects as a member of the Semiconductor Business unit. Partner with Product management, RD, Software teams to support introduction of latest TEM technology
  • Actively seek and develop process improvements which increase our ability to support our customers and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Assist the Applications team to plan and organize activities to ensure efficient and effective customer support is provided, prioritize resources based on skill, need and customer sentiment.
  • Set strategy for future growth and direction of the Applications team.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide ongoing regular feedback to foster growth and development. Take actions as appropriate. Complete annual performance reviews.
  • Develop, share and implement the long-term vision and strategy of the Applications team
  • Accountability - Establish procedures to monitor the results to achieve goals; self-starter rather than passive observer; proactive and results oriented

Education:

  • Typically requires a University degree in Materials Science, Chemistry and or Physics, an advanced degree is preferred
  • Any additional management degrees/trainings is also appreciated

Experience:

  • Leadership/management experience and a distinct leadership philosophy; Prior experience as an application engineer or application manager is required
  • 3-5 years of TEM applications experience in semiconductor or other industrial domain
  • Semiconductor customers knowledge
  • Management of large customer engagement projects is a plus

  • Excellent teammate who can effectively integrate internal and field-based activities across functions to support customer requirements
  • Ability and willingness to travel at least 15%-20%
  • Successful candidate preferably located in Europe, ideally Eindhoven
