Our PPD® Laboratory Services team has a direct impact on improving patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry thought-leaders and therapeutic experts. As the world leader in serving science, our laboratory professionals bring their commitment to accuracy and quality to deliver groundbreaking innovations.

Discover Impactful Work:

Leads scientific, technical and business development aspects within the laboratory. Consults extensively with Business Development and Clients as well as other internal departments on new business timelines, technical and compliance issues, and project-related matters. Works closely with the director in trategic planning, business development, and expansion initiatives.

A day in the Life:

  • Interacts extensively with business development directors, and prapares and
    determines quotation, pricing, project initiation and scheduling as it relates to
    scientific and technical capabilities of the laboratory operations.
  • Participates in strategic planning, capabilities development, prepares projections, revenue tracking, and other financial-related issues.
  • With management, initiates and implements plans to develop and improve area in the laboratory for greater efficiency, productivity, and quality. Oversees and coordinates projects between US and EU laboratories. Works with QA
    department in improving laboratory quality.
  • Participates in client, QA, facility, and project audits and prepares responses to audits as needed.
  • Completes technical and scientific related special projects.
  • Serves as a liaison to 3rd party lab vendors handling and brokering outsourced lab services

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related discipline or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
  • MT(ASCP) certification or equivalent certification

Experience

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years') or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
  • Years of experience refers to typical years of related experience needed to gain the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Years of experience are not to be used as the only determining factor in establishing the job class or making employment selection decisions.
