Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Financial Analyst to join our team. As the Sr. Finance Analyst, you will play a key role in driving financial excellence and supporting our executives within the Human Resources (HR) function. Your responsibilities will include leading the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) activities, conducting expense analysis, and using complex data for problem-solving. You will communicate, analyze financial and business performance, and identify risks and opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of financial management experience, proficiency in financial analysis and reporting, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Annual Operating Plan (AOP) activities
  • Lead AOP/forecast vs. actual expense analysis on a monthly & quarterly basis for Operating Expenses (OpEx)
  • Lead Strategic Plan (STRAP) for Corporate HR Talent Acquisition function
  • Proficiency in utilizing complex data for problem solving
  • Communicate effectively including standardized monthly reporting, and ad hoc reporting
  • Evaluate the financial and business performance by comparing it to important measurements and pinpoint relevant financial achievements, in order to comprehend the advancement towards strategic business objectives.
  • Understand and deploy the best tools and methods to effectively communicate complex data and topics; implement innovative tools/methods, as needed
  • Identify, and communicate risks & opportunities

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is preferred, although equivalent experience will also be considered.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years financial analysis experience.
  • B2+ English Level. Fluent in English written and spoken
  • History of working cross functionally and building organizational relationships with customers, peers, and business partners
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting, forecasting, and technical accounting knowledge
  • Proficient at understanding and proactively communicating the financial implications of business decisions and dynamics
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis) & PowerPoint; prior Hyperion planning (PLN 2.0) experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong business insights as well as the ability to make logical assumptions, identify trends, incorporate external and internal information, and effectively benchmark results against baselines
  • Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Ability to lead multiple assignments and prioritize projects and time effectively
