Job Title: Field Service Supervisor

The Materials and Structural Analysis Electron Microscopy(MSD) business helps customers find valuable solutions to their inquiries, facilitating significant advancements, improving efficiency, and ultimately making a difference in the world.

Combining hardware and software expertise in electron, ion, and light microscopy with deep application knowledge in the materials science, life sciences, electronics, and natural resources markets, the worldwide Electron Microscopy employees are dedicated to customers' pursuit of discovery and resolution to global challenges.

How will you make an impact?

The Field Service Engineering Supervisor for MSD works in partnership with the regional manager to support the employees. You will also be required to perform on-site installations, service and repair of equipment. Assist your engineers to improve operational quality of equipment. Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the systems. Serve as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.

What will you do?

  • Work closely with your service team to meet call closure goals
  • Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users and company personnel
  • Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel
  • Engage with the product quality teams
  • Provide appropriate input in writing to the Thermo Fisher documentation team.
  • Act as a resource for training of your employees.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position is ideal for a service engineer wanting to be involved with a team with varied strengths and exposed to a constant variety of customer application areas.

  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years hands on technical experience installing, solving, repairing and calibrating tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB or similar systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A valid passport is required to support travel regionally and internationally as required
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • The ability to secure entrance to US Government laboratories and facilities, if required

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Oregon is $45.08-$67.61.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
