Impact change in your own strategy, business development, and general management career by joining the Bioprocessing Group Strategy team! As Senior Manager of Business Development, you will have the crucial role of developing inorganic initiatives that accelerate the long-term growth of the bioprocessing business. This includes building external connections for market landscape analysis, and working collaboratively across Division, Group and Corporate teams for deal strategy development.

A Day in the Life

Your primary focus will be driving cross-Division inorganic growth strategies, such as M&A and partnerships. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development of strategic frameworks around business development opportunities.
  • Cultivate external connections with potential partners, key opinion leaders, and advisors to inform a perspective on the market landscape.
  • Partner cross-functionally with team members across BPG Divisions (General Managers, Strategy, Product Management, R&D, Finance, and others as needed) in opportunity assessments.
  • Apply project management, analytical and decision support skills to drive executive decision-making.
  • Coordinate Group's quarterly inorganic review meeting, track deal pipelines and monitor market trends.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

The ideal candidate exercises solid understanding of growth drivers for biomanufacturing businesses, expertise in developing strategic frameworks, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration .

  • Creative and resourceful analytical skills, proven experience building market size models, financial models, frameworks, and business plans with minimal direction.
  • Effective at forming relationships, collaborating, and influencing leaders within and outside the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to represent ideas and recommendations at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of biomanufacturing provider capabilities, technologies and customer trends.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Advanced user of Excel and Powerpoint, proficient with PowerBI.
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%).

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in molecular cell biology, bioengineering, or related field); MBA preferred.
  • +7 years in corporate development, corporate strategy or related role with meaningful M&A deal experience. Management consulting or corporate strategy experience in the bioprocessing or life science tools and diagnostics industry preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $130,000.00-$175,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
