Job Description

DUTIES:

Define business requirements in the Viral Vector or Gene Therapy manufacturing industry to address using business process applications and translate those requirements into a comprehensive solution and then develop a functional and technical design for the SAP S4 system in accordance with leading industry and SAP best practices.

Collaborate with the Group or Division IT and IT Shared Services to deliver the solution.

Act as a bridge between the business and IT through the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), i.e., requirement and gap analysis, design process mapping, testing script development and testing, deployment, and postproduction.

Collect and understand the business overall goals, requirements, and objectives, assisting in prioritization of business technology projects, ensuring that projects align with the technology that best provides maximum return on investment and linking IT strategy in support of the overall business and service line industry.

Serve as the liaison between the business, Group/Division IT, and IT Shared Services for the technology need and act as an advocate for the business.

Work with business area end users to build out knowledge of SAP best practices in the end-user community.

Identify innovative technical and process solutions that drive the desired performance in cost, quality, compliance, customer service, and revenue.

Develop quality documentation such as validation plans, change controls, validation, or change summary reports. Lead and participate in deviation investigations and resolutions.

Assist in IT architecture, strategy, and roadmap planning.

Plan, organize, and execute on various focus groups and initiatives to drive process improvements across the organization.

Travel: Up to 15% domestic and international travel required.

Telecommuting Employee: Reports to company headquarters in Waltham, MA. Can work remotely or telecommute.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Engineering (any), Computer Science, or a related field of study plus 5 years of experience implementing SAP and supporting SAP in the Viral Vector or Gene Therapy industries, or related experience. Employer will also accept a Master's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Engineering (any), Computer Science, or a related field of study plus 3 years of experience implementing SAP and supporting SAP in the Viral Vector or Gene Therapy industries, or related experience as an equivalent alternative.

Required knowledge or experience with:

Experience in the pharmaceutical or life science industry;

Supply chain business processes, including materials planning and MRP processes, material scheduling, receipts, inspections, and warehousing operations;

SAP software implementation experience;

SAP supply chain focused modules, including Materials Management, Production Planning, Quality Management, and warehouse management;

Experience working in validated environments that meet 21 CFR part 11;

Experience in translating technical requirements into business requirements and vice versa; and

Identifying organizational change impacts to current processes or procedures and identifying impacted users for changes proposed to the SAP system.
