Job Description

We are hiring a Sr. Accountant for our manufacturing site in Apodaca!

Reporting to the Controller we are seeking for someone to provide timely reporting and analysis. This role also involves working closely with the cost accounting Finance teams and acting as a business partner with operational and supply chain leaders. The position offers an influential seat at the table of a growing company and plenty of opportunities for career advancement.

What will you do?

  • Develop a business partnership with functional operations and supply chain leadership to assist in decision making and achieve desired business results by positively driving accountability
  • Drive operational efficiency, identify efficiency gaps, and assist in crafting action plans for gap closure.
  • Partner with Engineering team to assist and support project cost tracking processes to better support the business
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting Policies and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Prepare required accounting accruals, reconciliations and journal entries to support financial reporting while ensuring accounting procedures according to GAAP and SOX requirements
  • Analyze and clearly articulate financial consequences of potential actions to help drive informed decision making
  • Facilitate the reporting of financial metrics and scorecards that track the success of sourcing initiatives, cost savings projects, capital spending, and working capital management
  • Support and drive efficient processes around daily, weekly, and monthly key business metrics
  • Perform detailed financial modeling for arguments related to capital projects and cost savings initiatives, including taking ownership of the review and approval process.
  • Develop quoting and margin analysis models for current and new products
  • Supports financial reporting and monthly / quarterly close and forecast process in SAP and Hyperion Planning
  • Performs analysis that aids in the decision-making process, helps improve profitability, and identifies new business opportunities. Monitor monthly progress against budgets / targets and works with managers to ensure accountability
  • Prepares month-end journal entries and account reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner
  • Review Project/Capital spend to ensure that appropriations request accurately reflect the true costs and benefits of the projects
  • Participate in the training sessions of environment and security (to which he is summoned)
  • Carry out their tasks respecting the controls for the care of the environment and the integrity of the employees
  • Participate in the weekly talks/presentations of environment and safety topics
  • Report relevant Hazard IDs that they identify in their activities on the environment and safety
  • Participate on the 4 Disciplines of Execution
  • Participate on PPI activities
  • Take responsibility for the environmental performance of the processes under their responsibilities
  • Align with the activities related to segurometro

Autoridades:

  • Release SAP Purchase Orders up to $5,000 Usd
  • Full authority to analyze and review Financial Information of the Plant on charge
  • Point out and report any violation of the dress code within the facilities
  • Report activities that affect the environment (when applicable)
  • Make proposals to improve the Environmental Management System
  • Complete the necessary corrective actions in response to activities that impact the environment, when the desired outcomes of the Environmental Management System are not achieved.
  • Open Hazard IDs in environmental and safety matters and take the necessary and appropriate measures to resolve them

Requerimientos para la posición:

Education:

  • Preferred bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economic or equivalent

Experience:

  • Preferred 7 years of progressive finance or operational experience

Knowledge:

  • Preferred skilled in English
  • Strong EXCEL skills and excellent communication skills (desired)
  • SAP Experience with an understanding of ERP systems in a manufacturing environment (desired)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify key drivers of financial performance, particularly in a manufacturing environment (desired)
