PPD, the Clinical Research Business of Thermo Fisher Scientific is now actively recruiting for a highly driven and successful Senior Account Director to join our Business Development (BD) team. This position supports PPD's Accelerated Enrollment Solutions (AES) business - Sites and Patients. The AES BD team is highly dynamic team, and this is a first-class opportunity to demonstrate your proven success in hunting and securing new business opportunities.

AES is the world leader in patient recruitment with a combination of a global, identified patient database and a network of 180+ dedicated research sites. Our mission is to provide budget certainty and timeline reduction to the variable world of patient recruitment.

Senior Account Director - AES (Sites and Patients)

In this role you will secure and retain business through professional, consultative, proactive sales activities directed at decision-makers and decision influencers. You will position AES as a primary or preferred provider, qualify deals and develop proposals. You will serve as primary contact/support contact until work is sold, then coordinate and ensure a successful implementation. The role also requires you to act as a liaison between sponsor and company on BD activities and requirements and gather data on marketing trends and competitive products/services and pricing.

Education and experience:

  • Bachelors degree in science or business, or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.
  • 5+ years' industry sales experience, ideally within life sciences/pharma/CRO.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Sales experience and track record of proactively selling with urgency and persistence.
  • The ability to identify and develop sales leads, professionally present capabilities, manage the sales process through to close and handle aspects of contract negotiations.
  • Scientific and/or sales and marketing background.
