Platform Software is critical into exploiting all the potential of these microscopes, pushing the limits of current physical technologies. These tools and our software applications are used by scientists and engineers in life science, material sciences and semiconductor industry, indirectly affecting our life in many aspects. As SW System Architect of the TEM Platform Agile Release Train (ART) you will support the Software Development for all our businesses, Material Science, Life Science and Semiconductor.

The TEM Platform ART opens the door for ultra-microscopist who want to explore the breakthrough TEM innovations leading to the new TEM products. It also helps software development teams that want to create targeted SW solutions effectively, by providing solid means/frameworks for it.

With the ongoing developments in physics and industry the requirements for performance of these TEM microscopes are continuously growing. In addition our systems are getting more and more integrated into the workflows of our customers. This requires thorough understanding of our customers' needs and higher level of integration with other systems. We work with selected collaborating partners and together we are striving to convert the most promising technological concepts into real products.

How you will make an impact?

We are seeking a dedicated SW System Architect who is passionate about aligning architecture with business value and enabling continuous value flow. As a System Architect, you will be responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision for the solution that brings value to our customers according to product strategy (lead by PM) and innovation and evolution (lead by System Architect).

As an SW System Architect you will describe the Solution Context and Solution Intent, analyze technical trade-offs, determine the primary components and subsystems, identify the interfaces and collaborations between them, define Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs), guide Enablers through the Program and Solution Kanban systems, and work with Product Management, Solution Management, customers, and Suppliers to help ensure fitness for purpose. You will also collaborate with solution architects and the other SW System architects to ensure that optimal solutions are integrated into a cohesive system architecture.

This will get you get there:

  • Demonstrated architecture skills: knowing models, views and tools and architecture patterns
  • Know best practices for design, coding, and quality - as the teams still need a lot of direction.
  • Ability to know the end-to-end solution being worked on
  • Work experience as Architect for multiple number of (multi-site) teams
  • Embraces the SAFe principles relating to architecture
  • Experience with value stream mapping and reducing cross-team dependencies

The following criteria will give you an advantage:

  • Experience with software development for high-tech system
  • Knowledge on how to gain advantage from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
  • Experience with modern tools and technologies (e.g. C++' 21, Microservices, Docker, etc.).
  • Knowledge on how to build cyber secure high-tech systems

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Provide vision, direction, inspiration & motivation
  • Delegating work based on the capabilities of the person delegated to, and agreeing on follow-ups and checks
  • Ability to reason in abstract about the solution and patterns to use
