Software Development Manager

Responsibilities

Projects:

  • Ensure the successful delivery of projects, meeting all commitments made with customers from various departments.
  • Foster a strong understanding between the product manager/owner and the development team.
  • Act as a scrum master for select projects.
  • Participate in the search for solutions and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies.

Coordination/Animation:

  • Optimize the team's work to maintain a balance between quality, implementation of new features, and issue resolution.
  • Clear barriers to success and cultivate a challenging work environment that encourages excellence.
  • Ensure the availability and adequacy of necessary tools for project success.
  • Maintain development procedures in line with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Regularly review team priorities and effectively allocate resources to critical tasks.
  • Align team priorities with business goals by contributing to department goal-setting and budgeting.

People Management:

  • Foster employee engagement by setting clear performance expectations and holding everyone accountable for achieving results.
  • Promote a culture of learning and information sharing while fostering team autonomy.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent that embodies Thermo Fisher Scientific's culture.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals and career development discussions.

Skills Sought

Know-how:

  • Education: Software developer with 5-10 years of experience in the field.
  • Languages/Technologies: Proficiency in JAVA, Angular, NodeJS, C/C++, virtualization environment, and CI/CD. Ability to adapt to different technologies used in our applications.
  • Operating Systems: Windows and Linux.
  • Proficiency in JIRA and GIT tools.
  • IT: Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and networks desired.
  • Solid experience as a developer in a regulatory environment, ideally in medical devices or in vitro diagnostics.
  • First experience in project management or scrum master.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills for effective communication with external partners and individuals involved in projects.

Soft Skills:

  • Autonomy, dynamism, rigor, and organization.
  • Curiosity about the evolution of software development and its application in vitro diagnostics.
  • Adaptability to changing expectations and priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multicultural teams.
