How will you make an impact?

Be a valuable member of the Global Digital organization at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Use your software expertise to develop successful solutions for the semiconductor business.

What will you do?

  • Develop instrument control software for controlling the next generation of electron microscopes that are key to helping our semiconductor customers solve their most meaningful problems more effectively
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle from inception to completion including requirements analysis, specification, design, implementation, and testing

How will you get here?

Education requirement:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is preferred, but applicants with equivalent experience will also be considered.

Experience requirement:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated ability with writing SW for controlling hardware
  • Up-to-date knowledge and in-depth understanding of C++ / C#
  • Hands on experience with Object Oriented Design, State Modeling, and Test Driven Development is preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Visual Studio IDE and .NET technologies
  • Experience with micro-services architecture patterns
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, Jira
  • Solid proficiency in software-engineering practices such as requirements, design, agile processes, unit-testing, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of capital equipment manufacturing, electron microscopy, or semiconductor industries is a plus
  • Subject area, pride, and integrity to write clean, unit-testable code
  • Able to comprehend complex data and use it to tackle issues
  • Strong ability to analyze and solve problems empirically, as well as fix issues effectively
  • Able to travel internationally/domestically
