A Day in the Life:
As a Sr. SW System Architect, you will be responsible for defining and communicating a long term (5 years) technical and architectural vision for the solution that brings value to our customers according to product strategy and innovation and evolution. You will report to Director-level manager and work closely with representatives of the LifeScience business, the R&D LifeScience XDB group and the R&D Platform group.
As a Sr. SW System Architect you will take responsibility for the whole (software) lifecycle of the XDB products we deliver to our customers. You will collaborate with the System Architect on innovations by describing the software system requirements, analyze technical trade-offs, determine the primary components and subsystems and its interaction, define Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs). You will work with Product Management, Customers and Suppliers to help ensure fitness for purpose. You will also collaborate with other architects to ensure that optimal solutions are integrated into a cohesive system architecture. You will provide the SW XDB Development teams with a technical roadmap to prepare the architecture for future needs, handle life cycle management, improve developer efficiency and you will guard the delivered quality.

Requirements:
- Demonstrated architecture skills: knowing models, views and tools and architecture patterns
- Demonstrated leading software development (from architectural role) in a multidisciplinary environment to develop a high-tech system or module
- Had responsibilities to define and drive long-term technical roadmaps and work with steakholders to achieve results (including representative from Director-level and up).
- Know best practices for design, coding, and quality - as the teams still need a lot of direction.
- Ability to know the end-to-end solution being worked on
- Work experience as Architect for multiple number of (multi-site) teams
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g. C++, C#, Python)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge on how to gain advantage from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- Experience with modern tools and technologies (e.g. C++' 20, Microservices, gRPC, Docker, etc.).
- Knowledge on how to build cyber secure high-tech systems
- Experience with value stream mapping and reducing cross-team dependencies
- Keeping the helicopter view
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Provide vision, direction, inspiration & motivation
- Delegating work based on the capabilities of the person delegated to, and agreeing on follow-ups and checks
- Ability to reason in abstract about the solution and patterns to use
Physical requirements / work environment
This job can be fulfilled either from Brno/Czech Republic or from Eindhoven/Netherlands. It is expected to be at our office at least 4 days a week.
