As a member of the Molecular Biology Tools R&D team, you will be involved in the development of new molecular biology products, upgrading existing products, improvement and troubleshooting of existing manufacturing and quality testing technologies, and scouting for innovative and scientific discoveries and their applications. This is a fixed term position for 2 years.

• Serves as Technical Leader on R&D projects. Prioritizes experimental/technical execution and analysis to ensure on-time delivery.
• Provides guidance and mentorship to junior colleagues and supervises scientifically curious and ambitious student projects.
• Designs and performs laboratory experiments independently. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of technical and scientific approaches, ability to design meaningful problem-solving experiments.
• Attends scientific conferences and presents work through posters and publications. Presents proposals and project updates internally when required.
• Proposes ideas for new products and improvements, actively contributes to innovation scouting and implementation of novel ideas.
• Collaborates with local and global teams. Interacts with other departments such as quality assurance (QA), manufacturing, marketing, and project management in support of new product development.
• Performs scientific literature and patent searches related to activities. Collaborates with Intellectual Property colleagues to resolve freedom to operate capabilities and novelty of discoveries.
• Analyzes trends in molecular and synthetic biology field, reads publications and identifies areas for further innovation to support continuous improvement efforts. Builds expertise.
• Engages in PPI activities with a focus around a business need or opportunity.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics or similar.
• Not less than 4+ years of research and hand-on lab experience in molecular biology orientated laboratory.
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills such as leadership, team-working, respectfulness, motivation and empathy through informal discussions with peers, supervisor, and team.
• Deep understanding of relevant scientific fields. Demonstrates desire to learn new techniques.

• PhD in Life Sciences field (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics or similar)
• Co-authors scientific publications (posters/papers) and experience presenting at conferences.
