As part of a collaborative team, you will have the chance to contribute to various areas, including the development of system requirements specifications for new products in collaboration with product marketing. You will also be involved in executing feasibility experiments to demonstrate the proof of principle of new development concepts, and in developing and implementing measurement procedures and data analysis for the control, characterization, and optimization of high-resolution mass spectrometry instruments.

• Conception and implementation of feasibility studies to demonstrate proof-of-principle of newly developed hardware in the field of Life Science Mass Spectrometry
• Ensure high experimental quality and deep theoretical understanding throughout all stages of product development, from research to serial production.
• Embrace and overcome complex or novel challenges by developing effective solutions and execution strategies highlighting your problem-solving abilities.
• Collaborate closely with your colleagues to create control software for hardware components emphasizing your teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Playing an important role in the product development process, ensuring clear and comprehensive documentation
• Collaboratively apply principles, rules, and strategies related to intellectual property when drafting invention disclosures, patents, publications, and presentations, ensuring the protection of innovative ideas and technologies
• Serve as a representative of the company by positive and productive interactions with external customers and collaborators.
• Characterize novel prototype mass detector systems with focus on the reliability and robustness of LC-MS systems.

• Demonstrate first years industrial or several years academic experience (Ph.D.) in development of sophisticated analytical instrumentation or related technologies showcasing your expertise and dedication in the field.
• Demonstrate hands-on experiences in testing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electronic components are a plus.
• Practical experience in mass spectrometry, preferably on LC-MS systems.
• Effective and efficient in designing and implementing automated instrument tuning routines using Python or other scripting languages.
• Work collaboratively in a team as well as independently, demonstrating your ability to adapt to different work dynamics while maintaining a structured and detailed scientific approach.
