How will you make an impact?

We are expanding and seeking a motivated Process Engineer to develop our production processes. You will help increase capacity, quality, and efficiency in Global Operations at Thermo Fisher's Immuno Diagnostics Division. You will have a key role in developing our Uppsala site and driving business expansion. You will join a team of 12 process engineers, vials and packaging engineers, and two consultants with diverse expertise.

What will you do?

You will support production departments in areas like quality and development, collaborating with R&D to integrate product and process knowledge. Additionally, you will work together with technical project managers and validation teams to improve capacity, optimize production processes and drive productivity.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Play an important role in shaping and advancing our process development initiatives.
  • Process development including up/down-scaling activities.
  • Investigating and developing new techniques.
  • Continuously improving production processes and procedures.
  • Design responsibility for production processes.
  • Leading changes to improve production processes in regards of quality and capacity.
  • Problem-solving using root cause analysis for disturbances, non-conformities and CAPA.
  • Responsible for risk analysis for the production process.
  • Leading smaller projects/activities and participating in larger projects within the production area.
  • Participating in equipment procurement and implementation in production.
  • Evaluating process parameters using statistical tools.

As a person, you are quality-conscious, responsible, and highly driven. You are organized and efficient, enjoy problem-solving, and have a strong ability to independently plan and lead your work. You are accustomed to taking initiative, prioritizing, and planning your own work, which you conduct effectively, systematically, and analytically. Given the importance of coordination and teamwork in this role, strong collaboration and communication skills are essential. To thrive in this position, you should be positive, curious, and interested in technology.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An Engineering degree or equivalent experience, preferably in chemical, molecular biotechnology, mechanical, or a related field.
  • Several years of relevant working experience.
  • Experience with production processes according to ISO 13485, both in laboratory scale and automated industrial scale.
  • Previous experience in statistical evaluation of processes, validation of production processes, and cleaning processes for medical devices.
  • Experience working in a production environment where operations must run in parallel with technical projects.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken Swedish and English.
