At Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will engage in projects that craft the future of technology and innovation. Your expertise as a Sr. Mechanical Engineer will help us achieve our ambitious goals, ensuring flawless execution and delivery of high-quality products.
A day in the Life:
- Lead the standardization of mechanical design processes, optimizing standard methodologies.
- Plan and complete key projects, ensuring they meet functionality, performance, and quality standards.
- Develop robust engineering plans, providing regular progress reports.
- Drive resolution of high-priority issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Foster a culture of learning by coordinating technical training sessions.
Keys to Success:
- Serve as a technical expert providing engineering solutions and specifications.
- Ensure timely project delivery, meeting specifications and staying within the target cost.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams and external partners to successfully implement engineering plans.
Education
- You should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. You need at least 7 years of related experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of related experience will also be considered.
Experience
- Proficiency in using 3D CAD software, specifically Solidworks.
- Expertise in applying DFx knowledge to mechanical designs.
- Deep knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Solid engineering solutions development using industry-leading tools.
- Effective problem-solving in ambiguous situations with multi-functional teams.
- Strong sense of accountability and attitude geared towards achieving goals.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Work primarily in an office environment with occasional visits to manufacturing and research facilities.
