How will you make an impact

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, our Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System is designed to coach, facilitate, and grow the continuous improvement culture throughout the organization. In this role, you will work closely with business leadership and sites to establish and mature the PPI System across the organization. This position partners with key collaborators to establish multi-year plans via strategy deployment tools and leading kaizen activity to empower team to achieve their business goals and objectives. This position will be remote and will have a travel expectation up to 50%

Responsibilities

  • Prioritization of Ground-breaking Projects: Deliver financial results across PSG. Work with Business Unit, and GPPI Leadership to identify the projects that will have the highest impact. Present proposals to GPPI Sr. Director and communicate plans to BU and Divisional Leadership to: Reduce COPQ, Improve productivity, Improve OEE, resolve performance issues.
  • Deploy Ground-breaking Projects: Prepare selected sites for the change. Partner with the site GM's and SLT's to develop and implement site roadmaps to enable the transformation change meeting business unit strategy and objectives. Define scope, set goals, track performance, and quantify benefits. Identify risks and create mitigation plans. Track performance until sustainability has been achieved. Cooperate with site leadership teams to mentor key talents that will sustain change. Develop sustainable plans that will allow best-practices to be shared and optimally deployed across the network.
  • Deployment of Best Practices across Group: Identify and document standard processes and recipes. Support implementation of standard methodologies and recipes at prioritized sites. Ensure standard processes and recipes are being sustained and continuously improved.
  • Developing Talent: Provide support to develop change leadership within the organization at all levels. Improve the decision-making model and problem-solving capabilities within sites teams to increase autonomy and the pace of change. Empower mentalities, capabilities and behaviors.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or economics/business with evidence of operational, leadership, or professional experience
  • 5+ years of proven track record to lead process improvement.
  • Experiences in identifying and delivering year-over-year results using problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and mentor colleagues and senior leaders, influence across the organization without authority.
  • Innovative thinker that embraces change, understands digital technology solutions and can successfully identify implementation benefits for the organization.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.
