The Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) provides a diverse mix of analytical instruments and associated services to a broad range of end user markets. Its instruments are deployed in the field and on line, in challenging environments where customers put a premium on robustness, reliability and ease of use. This field-based business development role drives sales results in North America for our process spectroscopy product line within the Measurement, Control and Sample Identification business unit. The position is responsible for business development with key result areas (KRA's) in lead generation, new customer enrollments, key account management and revenue objectives for the process spectroscopy product line. The process will tap into an individual's sales, teamwork, and interpersonal skills to grow the business within Thermo Fisher Scientific's process spectroscopy portfolio.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement short and long-term strategic and tactical plans for growth of process spectroscopy solutions in the region. Focus will be with Raman and NIR technologies
- Increase market penetration and achieve sales revenue objectives by engaging with colleagues in Corporate Accounts, Bioprocessing, and Customer Channels in order to demonstrate customer engagement and collaboration.
- Drive the commercial teams through the deployment of robust business development and support activities including, weekly sales calls, utilization of customer relationship management (CRM) tools and the conversion of marketing leads to opportunities.
- Join sales calls with the commercial sales team and support through technical and business presentations, when required, tradeshows, user meetings, customer seminars and other customer events.
- Deeply understand account organizations and build trust and valued relationships with major decision makers, clarifies goals and reaches agreement while maintaining the interests of all parties.
- Builds strategic relationships with existing customers in Bio-Pharmaceutical, Chemical/Polymer, Oil & Gas, and Academic industries.
Education
- B.S. degree in scientific or engineering subject area or equivalent direct experience with related college course work required.
Experience
- confirmed experience in sales/marketing of scientific instruments or process engineering & monitoring
- Experience in process analytical technology (PAT)/business development/marketing in matrixed organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of spectroscopy and process monitoring and integration.
- Ability to develop high levels of credibility and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ability to understand the financial aspects of large scale, multi-year contracting.
- Well versed in value selling techniques.
- Strong customer service and relationship building skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to operate remotely while meeting / exceeding operational objectives.
- High level of IT skills/digital literacy
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Travel requirements up to 50% for customer visits

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $128,000.00-$191,975.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
