The Senior Account Manager (m/f/d) Ion Torrent NGS - North/West Germany will focus on growing and developing the NGS (clinical diagnostics and research) market with Ion Torrent NGS platforms. It will involve maintaining existing relationships with key opinion leaders and developing new relationships as we expand our menu and application. The portfolio will cover all NGS applications, including Oncology, Immunology, Microbiology, Genetics, and other in the future.

In this position, you will mainly be responsible for our customers in North-West Germany (Bremen, Hannover, Göttigen, Kassel, Ruhrgebiet). You will support customers from your place of residence - ideally within the Region.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Identify sales opportunities primarily within research institutions, hospitals, biotech and clinical diagnostics groups and lead the complete sales process to completion
  • Develop and implement business plans for targeted accounts. Complete a territory business analysis for management quarterly review.
  • Maintain consistent and structured communication with counterparts and articulate summarized communication to Manager on a periodic basis
  • Integrate optimally into team selling environment by partnering sales efforts with other Life colleagues
  • Partner with marketing department to support the development and execution of marketing programs and sales materials
  • Obtain successful adoption of the technology within all applied markets while investigating the potential of other applications and solutions in the research, pre-clinical and clinical space
  • Identify the full base of possible target customers by direct marketing and research including exploring additional applied markets
  • Manage and maintain key relationships with collaborating partners
  • Maintain and develop the CRM database, provide regular sales reports and forecasts

KEYS TO SUCCESS
Education

  • Graduate qualification in an appropriate science subject, molecular biology preferred

Experience

  • Several years sales experience in research / healthcare/diagnostics/clinical market
  • A consistent track record of working with diagnostics solution-based products in those markets

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Commercial acumen and the ability to promote a technical solution as a value for money exercise
  • Digital literacy, especially with regard to modern user interfaces, document and presentation preparation and report writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and spoken
  • Proficient in German, English - written and spoken skills French is of advantage
  • Experience with Molecular Biology, Next Generation Sequencing or Oncology preferred
