Job Description

Position Summary:
As a Business Development Executive for GMP Labs at PPD, a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. You will collaborate with internal teams to promote GMP Lab services and ensure client success. The role demands technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and the ability to develop new and strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities for GMP lab services across the pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare industries.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, acting as a trusted partner to understand their specific needs and aligning solutions accordingly.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet or exceed territory sales targets, driving revenue growth through cross-selling and new service offerings.
  • Market Research & Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, client needs, and competitor activity to tailor business development efforts and propose innovative service solutions.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including scientific, technical, and operational departments, to ensure delivery of high-quality solutions that meet client expectations.
  • Client Presentations: Deliver presentations to prospective clients to showcase GMP Lab capabilities and how PPD can meet their technical and business needs.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for pricing, terms, and contracts, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with PPD's business goals.
  • Networking: Attend industry conferences, seminars, and events to represent PPD and develop relationships with potential clients.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in life sciences, chemistry, business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or contract research organization (CRO) industries, with a strong focus on GMP lab services.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of GMP regulations, analytical laboratory services, and the drug development lifecycle.
  • Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to build long-term client relationships.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Established network within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a technical service environment.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Wisconsin is $98,900.00-$144,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
