Role purpose

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will principally be tasked with the primary structural analyses of protein samples provided by internal PDX colleagues, while your unique expertise and experience will enhance the general problem solving and experimental capabilities of the wider department.

Protein and protein-associated molecules underpin everything that PDX does, which emphasizes the importance of a strong structural characterisation background for this position.

Your scientific knowledge, insight & creativity will allow you to employ experimental resources, and be instrumental in contributing to intelligent design choices and technical solutions. The role will also support other areas of the organisation through communication and scientific expertise to improve existing procedures and to transition prototype technologies into routine clinical use.

Role description

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the design, execution, and evaluation of experimental work to meet project goals. This entails being open to new ideas and methods, synthesizing information from diverse sources, and making well-informed decisions both autonomously and collaboratively.

This position is based in both the laboratory and office, involving standard proteomic procedures, as well as innovative method development, research, targeted problem-solving, and technology transfer. We are looking for someone who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a strong motivation to learn and disseminate knowledge.

As a professional scientist, you will be expected to actively share ideas and feedback across various functions and provide positive mentorship to fellow scientists in their professional growth. Participation in broader laboratory and departmental tasks is also anticipated.
