Applications Scientist III TEM (Semiconductor)

Position Summary

This opening is for an experienced, self-motivated individual to support groundbreaking electron microscopy instrumentation as an Application Scientist within the Eindhoven NanoPort organization. As a member of the NanoPort, the candidate will work with a multi-disciplinary team including sales representatives, marketing professionals, product specialists and other applications teams to support leading semiconductor companies be successful with their process control, failure analysis and R&D needs.

How will you make an impact?

The Applications Scientist is responsible for providing technical expertise in the support of Thermo Fisher Scientific's EMEA sales efforts at specific customer sites.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Perform high quality TEM product demonstrations for Thermo Fisher Scientific global semiconductor customers.
  • Conduct customer training and translate customer needs into workable solutions.
  • Assisting with all phases of the sales cycle by acting as a technical product authority.
  • Collaborative development of new processes and applications as customer technologies and requirements evolve
  • Build trust with our customers and excel in customer service

How Will You Get Here?

This position is ideal for an expert TEM scientist wanting to be involved with a dynamic team and exposed to a constant variety of customer application areas. The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

  • Requires a University degree in Materials Science, Chemistry and or Physics, an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge and recent hands-on experience with aberration corrected TEM is required.
  • Proven experience in a relevant position within research or industry is required
  • Experience with coding or scripting (C#, Python, MatLab, etc.)
  • Knowledge of process development, failure analysis and metrology in the semiconductor or related industries
  • Excellent, clear interpersonal skills and the ability to nurture positive, productive relationships with customers is a must.
  • Proven track record to interact with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
  • Proficiency in French and/or German would be highly beneficial.
  • Base location must be Eindhoven
  • Ability to travel both domestically internationally (up to 50%), possession of a valid passport.
