Location/Division Specific Information

Position reports to the St Louis, MO site, and supports the Drug Substance Division.

Discover Impactful Work:

In this role you will use numerous analytical tools used for large molecule analysis, such as HPLC, UPLC and other minor equipments. Responsible for supporting GMP manufacturing for early and late state clinical and commercial efforts (In-Process) along with Stability testing and other endeavors requested by the client. You will work within an interdisciplinary team of scientists where you will learn and supply your skills and ideas to projects.

A Day in the Life:

  • Perform laboratory experiments using liquid chromatography methods such as size exclusion, ion exchange and reverse phase chromatography.
  • Help develop and build the foundation of a liquid chromatography technical team by implementing standard practices and policies.
  • Perform HPLC/UPLC testing on In-Process, DS release, DS stability, DP Stability, and various other non-routine samples, ensuring timely delivery for projects
  • Recognize and report out-of-specification/ out-of-trend results to laboratory management; recommend solutions
  • Perform all duties in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and Safety guidelines
  • Partake in laboratory activities, including safety inspections and client audits
  • Communicate findings and discuss relevance of your data to a multi-discipline team consisting of upstream and downstream process development scientists, quality control, quality assurance, process engineers and our customers.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical pharmaceutical, biology, chemistry, biotechnology or related field required.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, 4 years of proven experience related to the job description. 2 years with Master's degree or PhD.
  • Experience processing and reviewing data in Empower 3 preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Passion for learning and teaching peers the analytical methods required for successful process development!
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong desire to learning new skills.
  • Knowledge and expertise in performing analytical scale liquid chromatography on one or more of the following systems: ThermoFisher Vanquish, Waters UHPLC, Waters Acquity or Agilent systems.
  • Technical experience with the following assay techniques: Reverse Phase, Size Exclusion, and/or Ion Exchange Chromatography.
  • Ability to work independently with excellent communication and prioritization skills.
