JOB TITLE: Customer Solutions Development Specialist SEM

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific in Eindhoven, where your work will have a global impact. As a Customer Solutions Development Scientist, you'll collaborate with an ambitious team to develop world-class solutions for the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) portfolio. Your primary role is to become the "champion of customer applications" within our business, closely working with product marketing management and R&D.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will learn to identify high-growth verticals, understand and accurately communicate the needs of our customers and their materials characterization challenges.

What will you be doing?

After you have fully mastered working with (automated) SEM solutions, there will be a strong focus on:

  • Drive the creation of compelling, tailor-made marketing materials for the Product Marketing team, amplifying their impact in marketing campaigns, sales training, and sales materials.
  • Collect, compile, and evaluate test data to ensure they meet the requirements of the customer's application needs.
  • Identify and report software and hardware issues throughout the product management process.
  • Recommend technical decisions based on customer requirements.
  • Conduct workshops, customer product demonstrations, and training.
  • Provide mentorship, support, and product training to our direct and indirect channels.
  • Provide support in concert with the material science business unit and engineering management to resolve hurdles, roadblocks, and challenges to meeting the Applications Development Group objectives.

What will you need to get there!

  • Graduate level (HBO/WO) in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or other related science field.
  • Master's degree is desirable.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities!

  • Proactive self-starter with a desire to learn and develop commercial skills
  • Experience in working with scanning electron microscopes.
  • Comfortable with working in an industrial environment.
  • Experienced in crafting powerful marketing content.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently diagnose, define, and deliver solutions in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Thrives in a diverse team that strives to deliver product improvement for our customers.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 25%.
  • Position located in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
