Job Description

he Scientist I, Research & Development position at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to our world-class Analytical Development Team and R&D Organization in Drug Product Development - Europe. As a key member of this team, you will play an important role in supporting the growth of our internal product pipeline, client-based product development, and providing technical support for on-site operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the AD team in projects, making decisions on timeline, execution, and strategy of AD-related activities.
  • Coordinate and complete sample testing activities within timelines.
  • Collaborate within the R&D matrix organization, working with multiple departments.
  • Perform method assessment and establishment activities with senior scientists.
  • Develop scientific strategies to characterize product quality, safety, and efficacy.
  • Present recommendations to drive decision-making and ensure high-quality products.
  • Liaise with internal scientific, analytical, and laboratory functional areas.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Collaborate with peers and perform laboratory activities for development, validation, and transfers.

Requirements:

  • Equivalent experience in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related physical science will be considered. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in development.
  • Proficiency in various analytical techniques (e.g., (U)HPLC).
  • Strong passion for scientific methodology and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of analytical method development and validation.
  • Ability to lead and contribute to projects with medium complexity.
  • Strong goal-setting, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a team and embracing challenges in product development.
