Responsibilities:
- Designs experimental plans with guidance and completes experiments, analyzes experimental data, generates laboratory protocols, and contributes to technical reports and product summaries.
- Provides direct support in maintenance of adherent and suspension cell cultures, media/feed/supplement preparation, operation of bench scale bioreactors
- Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of data requires an evaluation of various factors.
- Troubleshoots and solves problems in the design/execution of development projects.
- Exhibits creativity in selecting approaches and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Maintains accurate lab notebook to support protection of intellectual property in accordance with relevant Thermo Fisher required standards.
- Presents data internally and contributes to external publications when appropriate.
- Interacts with internal departments in the commercialization of new products.
- Follows all company safety, training, and quality regulations and procedures.

Requirements (Must have):
- Bachelor's degree (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology/Biomedical engineering, or other related field) with 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing/lab environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in small scale mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced research environment and deliver detailed results
Requirements (Nice to have):
- Prior industrial experience, particularly in process development and/or cell culture media formulation
- Proficiency in microbiology and virus handling/infectivity techniques
- Knowledge or experience with biocontainment facilities and procedures, laboratory safety, and decontamination
- Experience with statistical experimental design and performance of DOE studies
- Familiarity with operation of bench-top stirred tank bioreactors or fermentation equipment
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $58,600.00-$87,850.00.
