Job Summary
This role is responsible for driving business development and sales strategies to expand the materials science pipeline in China, focusing on emerging markets, applications, and new products. The position involves completing the annual operating plan in collaboration with the sales team to meet booking targets, while also encouraging long-term business opportunities. Success in this role requires a strong technical understanding, critical thinking, and a customer-focused approach.

• Work together with regional sales managers to accomplish and track the Annual Operating Plan, giving timely updates on any deviations and important measurements.
• Conduct customer visits alongside the sales team to identify key application needs, decision criteria, and driven positioning. Provide tailored recommendations for Thermo Fisher's solutions.
• Act as a liaison between sales, marketing, applications, and R&D teams to resolve technical and customer support issues efficiently.
• Support the commercialization of new product introductions in China by coordinating beta tests, gathering customer feedback, and promoting adoption of adjacent applications.
• Gather and communicate customer feedback to Product Marketing and the Business Unit, ensuring the voice of the China market is represented effectively.
• Develop sales support materials, including brochures, application notes, and technical presentations, to enable effective sales training.
• Represent Thermo Fisher at trade shows and professional symposia, delivering technical papers and authoring articles for industry publications.
• Design and deliver training programs for the sales force on new products, solutions, and competitive positioning.
• Collaborate with demonstration lab staff to refine specialised demonstration techniques that highlight the value of Thermo Fisher's solutions.

Required Qualifications
• Master's degree in materials science, physics, chemistry, or a related field; PhD or MBA preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of electron microscopy and analytical instrumentation.
• 5-10 years of experience in business development, sales, applications, or product marketing within a technical environment.
• Proven ability to identify customer needs, integrate market feedback, and drive innovative solutions.
• Strong project management skills and ability to collaborate across a global, matrixed organization.
• Outstanding communication skills in English; proficiency in regional languages is an asset.
• Attitude that prioritizes the customer and demonstrates awareness of market trends and competitive dynamics.
• Technical problem-solving ability across engineering fields.
• Proficiency in MS Office and willingness to travel up to 70%.

Preferred Skills
• Experience with emerging market applications for analytical instruments.
• Ability to develop and implement effective implementations for product and market expansion.
• Familiarity with CRM tools for tracking customer interactions and managing pipelines.

Working Conditions
• This position requires periodic domestic and international travel.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position and operate standard office equipment as needed.
• Ability to collaborate across time zones and adapt to flexible working hours when required.
