Position Summary

This TEM and DualBeam (FIB-SEM) Product Specialist / Sales Development representative will work with a motivated and successful team at the forefront of electron microscopy in Asia and around the world! You will find effective ways to deliver business growth for materials science electron microscopy products, focusing on Japan for DualBeam (FIB) or TEM. You will work closely with our academic and industrial research customers, to understand their application needs and target new markets, build links with new customers, and increase sales.

  • Explaining new products, technology, workflows and solutions to customers including in the battery and steel industries, as well as to academic researchers. Main focus on FIB-SEM (DualBeam) and TEM products and technology.
  • Helping to develop effective sales and demonstration strategies for DualBeam and TEM systems
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key customers to better understand how to make them successful, both in academia and industry.
  • Market research and analysis, including participating in microscopy societies and conferences, using online tools such as websites, databases and social media, and identifying key opinion leaders
  • Delivering pipeline and bookings growth for FIB, TEM, SEM and XPS products in the region
  • Event planning and execution including conferences, workshops, trade shows and webinars, and presenting at such events.
  • Adapting or translating marketing and presentation materials for local use.
  • Training the sales force about new solutions, applications and competitor products.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • A university degree or equivalent, preferably a PhD or similar research experience in the field of materials science, metallurgy, electron microscopy, nanotechnology, physics, chemistry, engineering or similar
  • Strong understanding of DualBeam (focused ion beam and SEM) and/or TEM products and technology and application to Materials Science research, preferably with hands-on experience
  • A passion for electron microscopy and materials science
  • Be a fast learner willing to tackle new challenges in a sales environment.
  • Energy and a "can do" mind-set.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (primarily in Japanese and English) including the ability to explain technical concepts and applications clearly to a range of audiences, to gain trust, to influence and persuade others, to present at conferences, and to work well in teams.
  • Ability to achieve results and work to agreed timelines.
  • Good judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Enthusiasm to work within a diverse, cross-functional, international team
  • A high level of integrity and a desire to improve customer outcomes
  • Willing to travel up to 60%, mainly within the APAC region
