The Fisher Scientific Channel is building a bridge between business and science as the single source for a comprehensive range of laboratory equipment, chemicals, instruments, life sciences reagents, and consumable supplies.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design and put into action a sales strategy for a particular segment in the region to achieve revenue and gross margin targets based on company financial models.
  • Develop strategy to incorporate and complement Thermo Fisher's objectives into the overall segment and region strategy.
  • Work to drive product sales to support supplier partnerships and actively promote core products and valuable services.
  • Efficiently and proactively lead account managers' performance through regular reviews and other company-standard processes.
  • Ensure your team aligns with company procedures and policies.
  • Continually measure personal and team success against business plans, making the challenges, interventions, and decisions to deliver, or exceed plan expectations.
  • Lead the strategic direction for the region, guiding the sales team to achieve sales goals and expand business.
  • Perform sales calls and vendor relations with all customers and potential customers.
  • Share insights with the company on supply and price trends and assist in inventory control.

Experience/qualifications/proficiencies:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Science or Business along with significant and relevant, industry-specific experience, preferably in the research laboratory industry or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong sales management experience and validated leadership abilities.
  • Wealth of business understanding and business exposure.
  • Strong selling and presentation skills.
  • English: Full professional proficiency.
  • Full driver's license with the ability to travel 50-70% of the time to customer and internal meetings.
  • Successful management experience leading teams, achieving consistent positive results. Develops business plans and sales strategies, coaches team towards goals, and motivates them to overcome obstacles and achieve success.
  • Understands in detail the profitability levers across customers and builds a strategy for growth.
  • Monitors market conditions to be proactive in preparing and adjusting for changes; builds proposals for presentations and RFP responses and is consistently strategic with preparation and delivery.
  • Works with the team to develop strategic business plans, ensuring consistent focus on goal attainment and exceeding targets.
  • Experienced people coach and mentor.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a must; sales force software a plus.
