Job Description

Purpose of the position

As an R&D Project Manager I at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will be at the forefront of groundbreaking scientific advancements. This role offers an outstanding chance to lead daring PDS projects, ensuring they meet and exceed customer and business expectations within the agreed timelines and financial planning. Your contributions will be crucial in enabling our distributed team to deliver innovative solutions that make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

Responsibilities

  • Balance multiple tasks within assigned projects concurrently, ensuring timely and high-quality results for multiple customer requests.
  • Host and manage customer visits, preparing and delivering presentations for events such as kick-offs.
  • Facilitate the progress of project activities, ensuring all tasks are on track.
  • Support project timelines and ensure adherence to project plans agreed with customers.
  • Manage customer happiness and project tasks, facilitating seamless communication within project teams.
  • Foster positive interactions among team members.
  • Update project and billing plans on the database platform, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the finance department with project billing activities.
  • Develop proposals for changes of scope and project expansions, based on guidelines from technical teams. Candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Assist the quotation team in generating proposals for technical changes and responding to customer requests for additional services.

Requirements

  • Education:

A BA or MS in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biological Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Equivalent experience to a PhD is highly valued but not required.

  • Technical Knowledge:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) and Internet usage.

1. Preferably, a background in pharmaceuticals or previous experience in an R&D company.

  • Professional Experience:

1-3 years of experience in a technical field or related area (Pharmaceutical Development, Clinical Trials Manufacture, Commercial Manufacture, Project Management, Financial Awareness, Customer Contact).

  • Languages:

Proficient in English. Knowledge of a second language would be advantageous.

  • Personality Traits:

Exceptionally organized and diligent.

1. Ability to strictly prioritize multiple tasks.

Proven problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, and influencing skills.

1. Strong customer and result orientation.

Strong proficiency in presenting information, actively listening, delivering messages effectively, showing empathy, and proactively engaging in tasks. Proficiency in inspiring and guiding teams. Understanding of the quotations process.
