Location/Division Specific Information

We are a research, development, and production site in Bremen, currently with about 500 employees, whose "high-end" measurement and analysis instruments (mass spectrometers) are used in research and science worldwide. Our innovative products in the fields of Life Sciences MS and Inorganic MS, as well as Trace Elemental Analysis, are among the leading products globally in their respective markets.

Discover Impactful Work:

As a Purchaser, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services necessary for the company's operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers. You will ensure that procurement processes are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with company policies and objectives.

A day in the Life:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about market trends and supplier capabilities.
  • Source materials, goods, products, and services at competitive prices.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
  • Secure the best possible pricing and terms for the company.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Resolve any issues related to order discrepancies, delays, or quality concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data.
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, savings, and supplier performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as finance, operations, and quality control, to ensure procurement activities align with company needs.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support company projects and initiatives.

Keys to Success:
Education


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • Several years of experience in procurement or purchasing.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
