Job Description Summary:

Lead dynamic, cross-functional teams to develop and commercialize new products of high quality and value to the organization, within the agreed-upon project metrics of schedule, resources/budget and scope.

Detailed Description:

  • Lead project teams for the Sample Prep business, from initiation through commercial launch.
  • Act as project champion; develop bottoms-up plans and proactively addresses project risks, successfully delivering all project promises
  • Plan for resources with functional managers
  • Assist Core Team Members in resolving extended team and functional issues
  • Manage day-to-day project work, ensuring problems are rapidly identified and resolved, and managing crises effectively and asking for help when necessary.
  • Provide clear and concise written and verbal communication to all levels of the project team and leadership, tailoring style to a broad range of audiences and situations.
  • Act as information bridge between core team and leadership; prepare and present project reviews to steering committee.
  • Collaborate and coordinate across all the functional areas (R&D, Product Management, QA/QC, Regulatory, Legal, Operations, Manufacturing, Service and Support and others) necessary to insure successful program completion
  • Lead, document, and communicate constructive lessons-learned analysis of completed programs

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S. or B.A.), preferred in the Life Sciences, from four-year college or university.
  • 2 or more years of combined product development and project management experience, preferred experience within life sciences
  • Phase-gate product development process experience & PMP certification preferred

Additional Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent leadership skills, particularly the ability to influence team members in other functions over whom the Program Manager has no direct managing authority.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for driving execution at a detail level when necessary while maintaining the ability to see the big picture.
  • Proficient in spoken & written English
