Job Description

Within the global Transmission Electron Microscope R&D organization there are four different Program Portfolio Groups. These groups are defining the breakthrough innovation strategy with their marketing counterparts. Building a strong roadmap that delivers business growth & value to our customers. Translating the roadmap into projects and delivering the projects on time, within budget and on quality. They drive solutions for all product related issues in the market.

As Project Execution Manager you are part of a hard-working & motivated multi-disciplinary team and are responsible to own the product program from conception towards introduction in the factory! You lead & collaborate with the next functional subject areas: mechanical, electrical, software, optical, thermal, mechatronics, service, operations, sourcing etc. Which may reside inside or outside our group or at suppliers. The project can span geographically dispersed locations.

You will typically be responsible for two to three projects or activities in parallel, being the spokesperson for the customer focused programs and will lead these projects from start to finish. The decisions made by the PEM and your teams will have direct business impact. Your challenge will be to build technologically sophisticated and market leading products, meeting the needs of all your partners, combining short term goals with long term needs.

This role is for a very special project to deliver a first-of-a kind technology to a customer with two top-notch Electron Microscopes in which we will push the barriers of technology so that we can speak of the next High-End TEM family.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and delivery of modules and sub-systems
  • Implement meticulous review processes and set clear expectations around the key results of the project.
  • Consistency to the PMP and defined delivery schedules.
  • Effectively lead and collaborate with multi-functional teams including marketing, manufacturing and field service, to ensure breakthrough specifications to be delivered.
  • Contribute to the engineering budgeting process by providing financial/budgetary analysis and recommendations for projected developments and workforce
  • Run the project, deliver the value to the customer, within the agreed budget, timeline, quality
  • Lead by example, strengthen your team members and gain further knowledge of our end customers and their needs

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

  • A University Degree in Physics, Engineering or similar
  • Extensive work experience from an RD environment and solid experience in systems or subsystems project management, with ambition to continue to grow.
  • Demonstrated track record to lead sophisticated engineering projects through a defined product management process. Capable to empower the teams to come to outstanding results.
  • Ability to build consensus among key stakeholders that may not be under your management control.
  • Validated broad communication capabilities, due to the cross-functional nature of this role. The ability to lead communication in complex technical settings to a variety of audiences is very important.
  • Ability to run and assign specific duties and build a constructive and collaborative working relationship.
  • Familiar with ProChain Critical Chain Management and Agile way of working is a pro for this role.
