Location/Division-Specific Information
Part of the Laboratory Products Division, the Newport site manufactures a range of laboratory consumables. These products are used in research, diagnostics, production, and clinical settings.

Position Summary
As a Production Technician, you will maintain and operate Injection Moulding and/or ISBM/EBM equipment, ensuring machinery operates efficiently, meets specifications, and achieves production targets as outlined in the manufacturing plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain all equipment in a safe and reliable condition.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and equipment setting tasks within the factory, within your scope of competence.
  • Assist in training other Production Technicians and participate in training courses to improve skill levels.
  • Ensure safe working practices at all times and adhere to departmental rules and regulations.
  • Report any occurrences likely to cause a breakdown to Management promptly.
  • Set equipment to the required standards to achieve production targets and quality specifications.
  • Minimize material wastage and identify ways to reduce reject production and process loss.
  • Accurately complete and update statistical and record sheets.
  • Ensure compliance with all company rules and regulations while maintaining high housekeeping standards.
  • Conduct equipment changeovers for various production runs efficiently.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes adhere to technical and quality specifications in line with ISO 9001 systems.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives in collaboration with the PPI (Practical Process Improvement) continuous improvement team.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Numeracy, literacy, and basic PC skills.
  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in processing.
  • Proven experience with injection molding in a similar role.
