The Position

The Product Owner has a self-propelling role, and is responsible for building a product vision and roadmap that enhances customer value by aligning development efforts with business goals and user needs.

In this role you will work as a member of a software development team within the R&D organization, to build Calibration and Qualification (C&Q) software procedures that guarantee value for our customers.

The team works in an agile environment where the SAFe and Scrum frameworks are applied. Together with your team members, and in cooperation with the Mechatronics group, you will be focusing on delivering high quality software procedures that are used by our Operations and Service engineers to ensure the accurate functionality of our Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) products.

The C&Q procedures are executed and tested directly on our high-end microscopes, thus acquiring system knowledge, as well as understanding internal customer demands (including use cases and requirements) and the ability to translate this information into stories actionable by the team.

Key responsibilities include, but are not exclusively:

  • Develop, prioritize, and maintain a clear product backlog and roadmap that aligns with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Translate the company's customer value propositions into meaningful, industry-leading software products.
  • Collaborate on a regular basis with colleagues of cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define user stories, and collect feedback to improve the products.
  • Handle incoming bug reports, blocking issues, and change requests for the product.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and outcomes to stakeholders and leadership to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Support product development budgeting, process improvement and quality assurance where vital.
  • Agree with resource managers on efficient staffing of the development team.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education, experience, and competencies:

  • Technical Masters or Bachelors degree (e.g. Software Engineering, Computer Science or Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics).
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a Product Owner role and in a complex multidisciplinary (hardware/software) environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to simplify sophisticated technical concepts into clear, actionable stories.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Scrum teams.
  • Organized way of working.
  • Fluent in English.

When your experience meets the following criteria, this would give you an advantage:
