Thermo Fisher Scientific is the industry leader in Focused Ion Beam (FIB) SEM technology, with over 30 years of experience in FIB instrumentation. The PMM for DualBeam will be fully responsible for all strategic and tactical activities that ensure product leadership. The PMM will work to improve and expand global market presence by developing and driving a product strategy that meets our customers' application needs while achieving the business's growth and profitability goals.
A day in the life:
- Continuously evaluate customer needs through voice of customer interviews. Develop a product portfolio and go-to-market strategy based on these insights.
- Assess customer needs in specific markets and build business plans to enter or improve current market positions. Collaborate with engineers to translate market requirements into products that exceed customer expectations.
- Develop and communicate the true value that our products bring to the customer. Build compelling marketing materials to help our commercial teams accurately position products against customer application needs and alternative offerings.
- Actively follow market segment trends and changes. Develop product and positioning strategies that anticipate and adapt to these changes, including marketing campaigns and pricing initiatives.
- Maintain continuous dialogue with the global commercial channels offering technical product support whilst advising on strategies to ensure positive outcomes for key sales opportunities.
- Maintain a deep understanding of our main competitors and potential new entrants. Assess potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies. Prepare sales collateral to help the commercial team address competitor claims.
- Lead the ongoing product roadmap. Follow internal and external technology developments to understand their impact on future products or those of our competitors. Work closely with R&D program managers and engineers to implement the roadmap in alignment with business goals.
- Prepare and deliver quarterly business reviews to communicate performance metrics such as bookings, revenue, margin, and market position. Outline corrective marketing, commercial, and engineering actions to help us deliver on the overall business plan.

- Ability to build a vision for a product and translate it into a strategic, actionable product roadmap.
- Capability to evaluate new opportunities and develop market entry or go-to-market strategies as appropriate.
- Proficiency in optimally presenting the value proposition and technical information to various customer and internal audiences.
Qualifications and required skills: Minimum
- BSc or higher qualification in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics or Electronics.
- Greater than 5 years in lab experience using electron microscopy, in an academic or industrial environment.
- Scientific instrument business experience in a product management or marketing capacity.
- Experience of teaching or demonstrating electron microscopy and applications.
Skills and characteristics: Preferred
- Be an effective communicator, team worker and demonstrate good time management.
- Should be familiar with typical SEM/Dual Beam, FIB/TEM nomenclature and applications.
- Proficiently communicate and handle relationships externally with customers as well as internally with sales and technical professionals that have a broad range of skills and expertise.
- Be prepared to travel typically 25% of the time (but sometimes more) globally.
- Clearly highlight our innovation and how our DualBeam solutions are differentiated in the market to customers, the commercial channel and business leaders.
- Matrix leadership skills, exercising influence over decisions and strategy in the absence of direct management responsibility.
- Ideally this position would be located in Eindhoven, The Netherlands or at our EM manufacturing and development facility in Brno in the Czech Republic.
